2. Demand a Proper Invoice With the Serial Number On It
A real shop gives you a printed invoice with the shop’s name, the date, the price, and the device serial number. This piece of paper matters twice: it supports any warranty claim, and it protects your resale value later, because serious buyers of used MacBooks and iPhones ask for the original invoice. A seller who cannot give you an invoice is telling you something.
3. Understand What Warranty You Are Actually Getting
There is a real difference between an official Apple warranty and a “shop warranty.” An official warranty means Apple stands behind the device. Always confirm the phone is PTA approved before paying, and remember this only applies to devices with SIM connectivity: MacBooks and Wi-Fi iPads need no PTA registration at all.
5. Inspect the Box and Seal
Genuine Apple packaging is precise. The shrink wrap is tight and cleanly folded, the box print is sharp, and the serial sticker on the box matches the device inside. Sloppy wrap, faded print, or a resealed look are reasons to check the serial extra carefully before you pay.
6. Be Careful When the Price Looks Impossible
Prices in Pakistan move with the dollar, so some variation between sellers is normal. But a price dramatically below everyone else usually means one of a few things: a refurbished or used unit sold as new, a region-locked device, a unit with no real warranty, or a serial that will not check out.
